Both locals and tourists can enjoy any of the several exciting events in Flagstaff in the last month of winter. From sports to art, and everything in between, the February events in Flagstaff can accommodate all of your interests.
On the first Friday of every month, the ArtWalk takes place in Historic Downtown Flagstaff. During the monthly event, art galleries and businesses open their doors and host a street party with live music, special art exhibits and tasty food. The First Friday ArtWalk in February this year is scheduled for Feb. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., but many businesses stay open after 9 p.m. to accommodate the late crowd. Kenan Thompson, best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, All That, Kenan and Kel, and Disney's The Mighty Ducks series, will be performing live at Prochnow Auditorium Feb. 7, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. This is a must-see performance for anyone who grew up watching Thompson in the '90s, even if only for nostalgic reasons. Athletes of all ages are invited to participate in the two-day urban skiing and snowboarding festival on the streets of Historic Downtown Flagstaff. Practice rounds take place Saturday and competition begins Sunday around 10 a.m. Saturday night also offers activities for all visitors, including night-time riding, live bands, a beer garden, kids activities and a festival in Heritage Square. Each year the Flagstaff Cultural Partners put on a concert to provide a fun date activity for local and visiting couples. Celebrate Valentine's Day this year with a concert at Coconino Center for the Arts, featuring Tom Sheely, a classical guitarist. The music begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and a pre-concert wine and chocolate tasting is held before at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are only $20 per person and can be purchased from the Coconino Center for the Arts.
Irish musical group FullSet is coming to Coconino Center for the Arts Feb. 21, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. for a one-night concert event. The band's unique and innovative sound has received critical acclaim and entertained audiences both young and old. Buy your tickets now and don't miss your chance to see what is quickly becoming one of the most popular Irish music bands in the industry. Prices are $18 in advance, $20 the day of the show, and $10 for children.
Flagstaff Cultural Partners is bringing highly-acclaimed musician Martin Sexton to Coconino Center for the Arts Feb. 27, 2014. Sexton has had success as a recording artist with music that blends gospel, soul, country, R&B and blues. His performance in Flagstaff begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased for $25 to $40 dollars at the Coconino Center for the Arts.
